Extended Security Updates

Exchange Server CAL Types and Features

Exchange Server

Excel

Spreadsheet application available on client devices and platforms including Windows client OS, Mac, Android and iOS mobile devices, and Web browsers; typically licensed as part of an Office suite.

EOP

Enterprise Source Licensing Program

Permits qualifying organizations to view Windows client OS source code for debugging or other purposes; licensed on a subscription basis through SA (Software Assurance) covered Windows Enterprise Per Device licenses, Windows Enterprise User SLs, and VDA (Virtual Desktop Access) subscription licenses.

Enterprise Product

An on-premises product an EA customer commits to purchase under an Enterprise Enrollment at a quantity which adheres to certain minimum order requirements.

Enterprise CAL Suite

A collection of client-side licenses for accessing Microsoft server software that is a superset of the Core CAL Suite.

Enterprise CAL

A name often given to a CAL (Client Access License) that covers access to a subset of advanced server functions only and has as a prerequisite a matching base CAL.

Enrollment for Core Infrastructure

A now defunct EA (Enterprise Agreement) enrollment option that offered considerable programmatic price discounts on Core Infrastructure Server Suite (CIS Suite) licenses.

Enrollment for Application Platform

A now defunct EA (Enterprise Agreement) enrollment option that offered discounts on server-side licenses for SQL Server, SharePoint Server, and BizTalk Server, as well as for Visual Studio and related technologies.

EMS

Edition downgrade
