  Peter Pawlak

Expertise: Exchange Server, SharePoint Portal Server, systems management products such as Systems Management Server and Operations Manager, Live Communications Server, mobile device platforms such as Pocket PC, and IT practices.

Peter Pawlak tracks and analyzes Microsoft’s server applications and wireless technologies. He also helps cover Microsoft’s operating system and network technologies.

Prior to joining DIRECTIONS, Peter was Manager of Distributed Computing for Alaska Airlines. While at Alaska, he and his team planned and implemented numerous large-scale infrastructure projects, including deployments of managed Windows NT workstations, NT Server consolidation, Microsoft Cluster Server, Microsoft Systems Management Server, security firewalls, remote access via virtual private networks, Microsoft Terminal Server/Citrix MetaFrame, LAN restructuring, fibre-channel storage area networks, and more. His team also managed network security and provided third-tier support for all network, workstation, and NT server issues. Before Alaska Airlines, Peter was a District Manager for a Microsoft Solution Provider that delivered consulting and training services. Prior to that he was a product manager for SCO, where he managed Unix/Windows interoperability software.

Peter has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines and an M.B.A. from the University of California at Los Angeles, and was certified both as a Microsoft Systems Engineer and Trainer.
