BizTalk Server 2010 R2, a minor upgrade to Microsoft's server product for application integration and business-to-business commerce, was announced in Dec. 2011 and will probably arrive in the first half of 2013. Additions will include support for the upcoming Windows Server 8, SQL Server 2012, and Visual Studio 11 products; integration between IBM DB2 clients and SQL Server; and an adapter for IBM Informix V11. Schemas, adapters, and accelerators, such as those for the HIPPA and HL7 healthcare standards and the SWIFT financial messaging standard, will receive updates for the latest specifications.
