| Office 2007 Gets Six-Month Reprieve |

Mainstream support will end Oct. 9, 2012, for 2007 versions of Office, SharePoint, and related products, rather than in Apr. 2012 as originally planned. The extension will reduce the cost of supporting the products for some customers. During the Mainstream support phase of a product version, customers get service packs and many other types of bug fixes free of charge.
