Windows Azure Media Services, a set of tools for uploading, processing, managing, and delivering digital media such as video and audio using the Windows Azure platform, was announced in Apr. 2012. Azure Media Services, now available as a public preview, provides a Web service API that allows customers and ISVs to store, encode, content-protect, and stream media to users on client platforms, including Android, iOS, Mac, PC, Xbox, and Windows Phone devices.
