The Microsoft enterprise-scale backup and recovery tool, Data Protection Manager, was updated for the release of System Center 2012. It has better centralized administration, more efficient use of SQL Server, better backup and restore of individual items in SharePoint and virtual machines, and improvements to tape backups. But it still does not de-duplicate files to reduce storage requirements.
