Office 2007, SharePoint 2007, Visio 2007, and Project 2007 will transition from the Mainstream to the Extended support phase of their life cycle on Oct. 9, 2012. Although Mainstream support is typically five years, it was increased for Office 2007—related products to allow for two full years of Mainstream support after Office 2010 released.
