Unisys ES7000 Architecture
May 22, 2000

The above graphic below illustrates a fully configured Unisys ES7000 system, expected to be the first Windows 2000 DataCenter machine supporting greater than eight processors. At the heart of the machine are four 16 GB Memory Storage Units (MSUs), pictured at the center of the illustration. Each MSU is connected to all other components via four cross bar switches, pictured as flat vertical plates. Connected to each cross bar switch are two third-level caches (TLCs) and two direct I/O bridges (DIBs). Attached to each TLC are two CPU pairs. Connected to each DIB are three PCI busses, each bus supporting up to four PCI devices. The machine as pictured supports 64 GB of memory, 32 CPUs, and 96 PCI devices.
