In Brief: Deals Secure XBox Games
Sep. 11, 2000

Big Huge Games has received an undisclosed investment to develop games for the Xbox. This is one of many deals by which Microsoft is securing game titles for the fall 2001 launch of Microsoft's first game console. The deal gives Microsoft exclusive rights to as-yet-unnamed strategy games from Big Huge, a new studio founded by Civilization II designer Brian Reynolds. Separately, Microsoft has released the names of 17 other companies developing for the Xbox, including Stormfront Studios (developers of Electronic Arts' Madden Football) and Universal Interactive Studios (developers of Playstation titles Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon). Further details are available at Microsoft's Xbox site, www.xbox.com.
