Developers can create and debug dashboards and Web Parts with the Office XP Developer integrated development environment (IDE). The Solution Explorer window (left) lets developers get an overview of a dashboard with its subdashboards and Web Parts. In this case, it's displaying a dashboard created with SharePoint Portal Server. (See "A Simple Web Portal Page".) Note that the Explorer window above shows some Web Parts that aren't currently visible to users of the dashboard. The Properties window (center) lets developers view the properties of dashboards and Web Parts. Shown above are some of the properties of the Article Status Web Part. The editing window (right) can be used to view and edit Web Part content. The window in this case displays the embedded HTML content of the Article Status Web Part.
