The CMS 2002 Authoring Connector extension to Office XP’s Word program adds a "Send to MCMS" option to the Word file menu (shown here) preconfigured with the path to the CMS server. This allows authorized content creators to build content in Word, then launch a wizard that ships the content, including formatting, to the CMS database and into the publishing workflow (whose rules are defined for the target area of the Web site). From within the wizard, content creators can also schedule times for content publication and expiration, and preview how the Web page will appear to site visitors.
