A new group, the Information Worker Product Management Group (IWPMG),
has been formed to bring marketing efforts aimed at information workers, the
companys new term for knowledge workers, under one roof.
Headed by Joe Eschbach, previously vice president of e-paper solutions
at Adobe, the group will include the Office, SharePoint, and Business Tools (MapPoint,
Project, Publisher, and Visio) product management teams, as well as the Business
Productivity Solutions Group.
Peter Rinearson, founder of Alki Software, an early third-party
developer for Office and co-author of Bill Gatess book The Road Ahead, has
been named vice president for new markets for Microsofts information worker
business.
Both Eschbach and Rinearson will report to Jeff Raikes, group vice
president for the Productivity and Business Solutions Group.
