The Group Policy Management Console (GPMC) provides a single point of administration for Group Policy. It provides administrators with the ability to determine which users and computers will have a specific policy applied, see details about which policies are selected, and delegate the management of policy. It also exposes new tasks that allow the administrator to backup, restore, import, export, and graphically manipulate (copy and paste) Group Policy Objects. Administrators can also work with the RSOP data for modeling and monitoring results, and use scripts to invoke all GPMC functions. Microsoft has promised to deliver the GPMC, which is currently undergoing a separate beta, as a free add-on to Windows .NET Server shortly after the server is released.
