Future OS Releases
Jan. 19, 2004

Major service packs are planned for Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 in 2004. The next major Windows client OS release will be Longhorn, in late 2005 or early 2006. The next major Windows Server release should come 18 months after Longhorn, but a Windows Server 2003 service pack will probably ship concurrently with Longhorn to ensure compatibility between client and server.
