Many new management products and technologies will be available in the second half of 2004. Following that, most are dependent on the next release of the Windows server platform, code-named Longhorn Server. The next release of Visual Studio, Visual Studio 2005, will contain some facilities for designing operational and management requirements into applications, but support for building fully DSI-enabled applications will come in the next release, code-named Orcas. To fully exploit the management capabilities of these DSI-enabled applications, customers will require features contained in System Center version 3.
