The forthcoming Philips 433VOIP is a cordless handset that will let users place calls over both the traditional public switched telephone network and the Internet using Microsoft's Windows Live Messenger 8 (the successor to the current MSN Messenger client) and a Voice-over-IP (VoIP) service provided by MCI. Users plug the wireless base station into the PC's USB port and their regular telephone line, then use the phone to place either type of call.
