Office 2007 files can be smaller than their Office 2003 equivalents. Shown here are file sizes for two representative files, an Excel workbook and a PowerPoint presentation, in the Office 2003 and Office 2007 default formats. In general, text-heavy files such as Word and Excel documents will benefit most from the compression of the new Office 2007 formats.
