The following is an illustration accompanying an article published by Directions on Microsoft, an independent research firm focused exclusively on Microsoft strategy & technology. More samples of our content, as well as a list of upcoming articles and

A new utility called Site Manager provides a simplified view of a SharePoint Server 2007 site's structure and content. As shown in the illustration, a two-pane window gives administrators the ability to view and modify the hierarchy of sites and pages in a site collection called Directions on Microsoft Home. The left pane shows a typical tree-control view of the sites and pages in the collection. Selecting an item in the tree expands its constituent site elements in the right pane, which allows the administrator to modify those elements. In the illustration, the top-level site (Directions on Microsoft Home) has been selected in the left pane. Administrators can take action on the elements in the right pane individually or in bulk, using the Actions menu option at the top of the pane. For example, as illustrated, an administrator could select one or more elements (by checking them) and delete them via the Actions menu.
