Windows Server "Longhorn" Server Core provides only a command-line interface; there is no graphical user interface. Although administrators can use Remote Desktop Connection to connect to a server running Server Core, they will see only a remote version of the command-line interface; the administrator will still need to know the syntax for the management commands. Some maintenance can be performed remotely using Microsoft Management Consoles (MMCs), but not all MMC tools support complete remote management.
