Windows' command-line syntax remains inconsistent across its various commands. Shown here are examples of two commands an administrator will use to manage a server running Windows Server "Longhorn" in Server Core mode: Netsh (used to configure basic network settings, such as the TCP/IP address) and Netdom (used to configure Windows Server domain settings). Both commands require multiple parameters, but they use different methods (spaces in one case, forward slashes in another) to delimit parameters, which makes the commands harder to remember and use correctly.
