BPOS Standard and Dedicated Services

[bio]

The following is a chart accompanying an article published by Directions on Microsoft, an independent research firm focused exclusively on Microsoft strategy & technology. More samples of our content, as well as a list of upcoming articles and reports are also available.

The Business Productivity Online Suite (BPOS) includes common features of Microsoft's Exchange, SharePoint, and Communications Server products, although not all features of the on-premise versions, such as voice-mail storage in Exchange mailboxes or voice connectivity with conventional telephone networks, are implemented online.

The Dedicated version, whose prices have not been announced (but are likely negotiated on a customer-by-customer basis), is available now for customers with more than 5,000 enrolled users. The Standard offering will commence with Exchange Online and SharePoint Online in late 2008, followed by Communications Online in 2009.
