Phases of Windows 2000 Migration

Companies can migrate from NT 4.0 to Windows 2000 in three phases. How much time is spent in each phase depends on the benefits a company wants and how much it's willing to invest.

Incremental migration phase. In this scenario, a company deploys Windows 2000 on workstations and member servers while keeping its NT 4.0 domain controllers. This yields some benefits and can begin almost immediately.
