Windows 2000 Upgrading Options

The table below lists steps companies can take to upgrade a machine to Windows 2000. For each step, the table lists the type of licenses required and the estimated U.S. Select Level A prices for those licenses. The rightmost column shows the technical options that Microsoft will support to upgrade a machine: upgrade the machine's software while preserving its application and user settings ("in-place upgrade") or completely wipe a machine's disk before upgrading (a "clean install").
