In Brief: Agreements to Optimize CE

Microsoft and leading chip manufacturers are forming the Windows Embedded Strategic Silicon Alliance (WESSA) to ensure that the next release of Windows CE, code-named Talisker, runs on their respective microprocessor architectures. WESSA members, including ARM, MIPS, National Semiconductor, and 13 other companies, will collaborate with Microsoft and have access to the Windows CE source code.
