SQL Server Disaster Recovery and High Availability in Azure

Windows Azure virtual machines (VMs) can now be used to host SQL Server 2012 AlwaysOn nodes, enabling both disaster recovery and high availability of SQL Server applications. The new capability could be useful to organizations looking to establish higher availability or a method of disaster recovery and the ability to offload tasks such as reporting or external backup without adding on-premises hardware and software. SQL Server 2012 AlwaysOn enables replication to up to four additional servers from the primary (source) replica.
