SQL Server 2014 Improves Replication, High-Availability

SQL Server 2014 improves the AlwaysOn Availability Groups (AG) feature introduced in SQL Server 2012 that replicates databases to redundant servers with support for in-memory tables and replication to Windows Azure virtual machines. AlwaysOn AG uses replication to increase server availability, speed disaster recovery, and provide optimized read-only access for reporting and business intelligence tools. However, configuring the environment for optimum performance, resolving limitations replicating some SQL Server services, and connecting to cloud backups requires careful planning.
