SQL Server Management Studio Gets Its Own Release Schedule

SQL Server Management Studio's release schedule (for preview and general availability) has been decoupled from the main SQL Server product releases, and it will receive updates more frequently than in the past. The change allows Microsoft to enhance the tool to support frequent changes in the Azure SQL Database hosted service and to address issues with support for SQL Server 2016, which is currently in preview and expected to be available in Apr. 2016.
