SQL Server 2005 Reaches End of Support

SQL Server 2005 reached the end of Extended support on Apr. 12, 2016, and by now organizations should have migrated databases and services to newer versions to mitigate security risks. Once a software version exits Extended support, Microsoft will not release patches for security vulnerabilities or other bugs in the version without a costly custom support agreement. This means that systems running SQL Server 2005 are now increasingly vulnerable to attack.
