Server farm

A server farm is defined by Microsoft (in Product Terms) as a single data center or two data centers each physically located either in time zones not more than four hours apart or within the geography of the European Union (EU) or European Free Trade Association (EFTA). The meaning of data center is not specifically defined, but is generally understood to mean a contiguous physical facility as opposed to equipment distributed over a broad geographic area.
