Premises

While Microsoft does not define the word explicitly, "premises" is generally understood to mean the physical buildings an organization owns or leases to conduct its day-to-day business. Microsoft sometimes uses the following other terms to mean the same thing: “physical premises,” “customer’s premises,” and “on-site.”

Whether a user is on or off the organization’s physical premises is relevant related to Roaming Rights, a SA (Software Assurance) benefit associated with a few Per-Device licenses for client applications:
