Shared Computer Activation

Shared Computer Activation, first introduced in 2014, is used to handle activation of Office 365-branded applications on devices shared by multiple users. This includes client devices used by different users through the day, such as a nursing station or factory floor kiosk, a server hosting session desktops, and a server hosting virtual desktops that use shared (nonpersistent) VMs (virtual machines). (For client devices or persistent virtual desktops used predominantly by a single individual, Office 365 Activation is the appropriate activation method.)
