Windows client OS

Windows client OS (operating system) is the general name the Directions on Microsoft Licensing Reference uses for organization- (as opposed to consumer-) focused Windows operating system editions deployed on client PCs or within virtual desktops.

Editions and licensing options. The term Windows client OS encompasses Windows Pro edition (licensed Per-Device), Windows Pro for Workstations (also licensed Per-Device), and Windows Enterprise edition (licensed on a Per-Device or Per-User basis).
