Remote Desktop Gateway

Remote Desktop Gateway, one of the major components in Windows Server’s RDS (Remote Desktop Services) role, allows authorized individuals to use Internet-connected client devices to connect to the organization’s session desktops, virtual desktops, or desktop PCs (accessed through remote use rights). Without technology like Remote Desktop Gateway, it would be difficult to deliver connectivity from outside an organization’s firewall in a secure and straightforward fashion.

Use of Remote Desktop Gateway is covered by licensing RDS (see RDS entry for details).
