Servicing Model

Servicing model (sometimes also called “servicing channel” or “servicing branch”) is a term used to describe a schedule for how frequently new versions of on-premises product software will be made available and how much discretion customers have over the timing of new version deployment if they wish to maintain eligibility for patches and break/fix product support. In some cases use of a particular servicing model has specific licensing requirements, such as active SA (Software Assurance) coverage on a preexisting perpetual license or an ongoing subscription license.
