Reimaging

The term reimaging is typically used to describe a volume licensing program customer’s right to, at no additional cost, overwrite a PC’s OEM-installed Windows client OS with a customized Windows Pro image built using volume licensing installation media. This practice, akin to “paving over” the contents of a PC’s disk drive, enables organizations to deploy standard OS (and application) configurations to large numbers of computers.
