C#, VB Updates Optimize Development, Shorten Code

Visual Studio (VS) 2015 and subsequent updates bring enhancements to the .NET Framework-based C# and Visual Basic (VB) programming languages and related tools. The language changes could help developers write terser code, which can make software easier to maintain. A new compiler, code-named Roslyn, can help developers write and optimize code while conforming to team practices and styles. A revised strategy will allow C# and VB to diverge in future releases, for which new features have been announced and previewed.
