Mitigation Toolkit Support Extended, but It Is Obsolete

Support for the Enhanced Mitigation Experience Toolkit (EMET) has been extended until July 31, 2018. The extension will mostly benefit organizations that use EMET to protect applications running on older OSs, such as Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008. EMET is a free toolkit that installs an agent to mitigate application faults and code vulnerabilities that can be exploited by malicious software. Originally released in 2009 and now in version 5.51, EMET's support had been due to run out in Jan. 2017.
