Per Processor License Model

Under the Per Processor License Model, used for older versions of SQL Server and a few other server-based applications, volume licensing program customers choose between purchasing a license for each physical processor in a server or licenses based on the processing resources allocated to individual Virtual OSEs. Besides providing the right to run the licensed product on a server, processor licenses cover access by both internal users and external users.
