PowerShell 7 Generally Available

PowerShell 7, the latest version of Microsoft's cross-platform administrative scripting technology previously referred to as PowerShell Core, became generally available on Mar. 4, 2020, following a long series of previews and release candidates. PowerShell 7 is available for Windows, Linux, and macOS and is now the focus of Microsoft's scripting efforts, but the company has not announced plans to remove Windows PowerShell. This version focuses on backward compatibility with legacy Windows PowerShell tasks.
