Edge Browser to Be Required by Windows 10

The Edge browser that is based on the open source Chromium project will be a required component of future Windows 10 versions and cannot be uninstalled. In Jan. 2020, Microsoft released the new Chromium-based Edge as a separate browser designed to be compatible with other modern browsers, and as a replacement for the legacy Edge, which has been a part of Windows 10 since the OS’s general availability in 2015. The new Edge will ship as the default browser of Windows 10 versions starting in the second half of 2020 with the 20H2 version of the OS.
