Azure Virtual Desktop

Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), a Microsoft-hosted service, provides key management infrastructure (including connection brokering, diagnostics, and load balancing) for customers wishing to use VMs (virtual machines) hosted on Azure to deliver server-based desktops to users. Prior to June 2021, the service was called Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD). AVD managed server-based desktop deployments incur client-side fees, Azure VM compute-related costs, and other miscellaneous fees depending on deployment characteristics.
