The competency requirements of the new Microsoft Partner Program determine what program level a partner achieves, the types of solutions that the online partner directory lists for them, the type of benefits they receive from Microsoft, and the focus of their relationship with Microsoft.

The following chart lists general requirements for obtaining most competencies, plus the special requirements for a particular competency, in this case the Advanced Infrastructure competency. (For a list of other current competencies, see the chart “Current Competencies“.) A more detailed description of this competency can be read at members.microsoft.com/partner/program/competencies/aisolutions.aspx.

General Requirements for All Competencies
  • Be an active member of the Microsoft Partner Program.
  • Submit at least three customer references each year, within 12 months of their implementation. The references must illustrate a successful implementation relevant to the competency application.
  • Pay the fee
