The Office 365 ProPlus suite for Windows and the corresponding Mac suite received major updates in 2015, and now include the 2016 versions of the applications. Corresponding Web and mobile Office applications will continue to receive small updates.

What Is Office 365 ProPlus?

The Office applications are Microsoft’s most widely used client applications for business. They enable document editing, data access and manipulation, e-mail, presentations, and collaboration on Windows PCs, Macs, and mobile devices. Office 365 ProPlus subscriptions license Office applications on a Per-User subscription basis. For PCs, Office 365 ProPlus is a suite that includes Access, Excel, InfoPath (deprecated), OneNote, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher, Skype for Business, and Word. The applications are installed and run locally on-premises.
