Several product versions will be leaving Extended support between Oct. 2016 and July 2018. After Extended support ends, Microsoft only offers fixes for security vulnerabilities to customers who have custom support contracts, which are expensive and not available in all circumstances. Consequently, organizations running products after Extended support face considerable risks or costs. For a complete list of enterprise software leaving Extended support in the next 24 months, see support.microsoft.com/lifecycle/search/default.aspx?sort=PN&alpha=&Filter=FilterES&esdate=24.
