Antigen products are still available to Forefront server security customers to protect older Microsoft product versions. The Antigen line was acquired with Sybari Software in 2005 and became the basis for the Forefront Security server products and Exchange Server 2007’s built-in spam filter. Customers can acquire the Antigen products through downgrades from Forefront server security products, described in Microsoft’s Product Use Rights document. In Jan. 2009, Microsoft announced end-of-life extensions for Sybari Antigen for Exchange 8.0 and Sybari Antigen for SMTP Gateways 8.0, from Dec. 31, 2008 to Dec. 31, 2009, to accommodate antivirus needs of customers who are still running versions of Exchange prior to Exchange 2000.

Note that Symantec no longer supports Antigen for IM on Symantec IM Manager, a public IM gateway product that was formerly known as IMLogic IM Manager.
