  • Work IQ is the latest service to analyze Microsoft 365 tenant data for work patterns and relationships.
  • With Work IQ, Microsoft 365 Copilot can create answers and content that reference customer-specific terms and observe customer-specific security rules.
  • Customer and partner applications, including AI agents, can leverage Work IQ through Copilot and Microsoft Graph APIs.
  • Most uses of Work IQ will require a Microsoft 365 Copilot license.

Work IQ is the latest brand and technology for analyzing Microsoft 365 tenant data, and will fill a role currently held by Context IQ. The Work IQ service creates models on Microsoft Graph data for the Microsoft 365 Copilot service and applications such as Outlook, enabling them to give more relevant, customer-specific information. Although Work IQ is not new, generative AI and other new Microsoft technologies could make Work IQ more useful than its predecessors. Planned Copilot and Microsoft Graph API extensions will let outside developers take advantage of Work IQ in their own applications. However, most use of Work IQ will require licenses for Microsoft 365 Copilot for all users.
