In BriefAI Features Cut from Defender for Cloud to Enhance Agent 365
A range of AI agent-related features initially included in Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps and Microsoft Defender for Cloud have transitioned to Microsoft’s Agent 365 service as of July 1, 2026—increasing costs. Customers who previously used these features in Defender for Cloud Apps or Defender for Cloud must now license and use Agent 365 to access comparable features.
The now-deprecated features previously available include the following:
- Defender for Cloud Apps (typically licensed for clients) originally offered tooling to assist with the discovery and posture management of Copilot Studio agents, including threat detection and real-time protection, as well as advanced hunting capabilities.
- Defender for Cloud (typically licensed for servers) originally offered tooling to assist with discovery and posture management of Microsoft Foundry agents, including multicloud discovery using Defender Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) and threat protection using Defender
