MSN Money Professional Architecture

MSN Money Professional will enable professional financial advisors to distribute personalized financial information to customers using financial management software and a customized portal. The advisor will use financial management software supplied by participating firms such as Advent or Corillian to pull information from the institutions where the customer’s financial information is stored (e.g., banks, brokerages) and consolidate it into a useful format (e.g., a list of portfolio positions or transactions). The advisor can add proprietary information, such as a report on a potential investment. This information will be transferred over a secure network (e.g., the Advent TrustedNetwork) to an XML Web service at Microsoft, which will then post it on the MSN Money Professional portal. The information will be combined with content from MSN Money, such as stock quotes and news feeds. The advisor can use browser-based or ISV-specific administrative tools to change the content of the portal-for example, to add new stock quotes from MSN Money.
