Azure Resource Manager is a software framework that drives the deployment and management of Azure resources, such as VMsWeb Apps, and databases. Resource Manager helps customers organize, govern, and secure resources deployed on Azure.

Product: Azure Resource Manager

Near Term (2025–2026)

Support for Transport Layer Security (TLS) versions older than TLS 1.2 is no longer offered.

Long Term (Beyond 2026)

Azure Resource Manager is a mature framework that provides the Azure management plane. It replaced the earlier Azure Service Manager framework. Updates to Azure Resource Manager are rare, as management for new services and features is provided via resource providers that plug into Azure Resource Manager rather than via updates to the framework.

Servicing

Updates to Azure Resource Manager can arrive at any time, although no major ones are expected. They usually arrive as a private or public preview three to six months before the feature becomes generally available and supported.
