Office 365 is a set of service plans that combines Microsoft-hosted online services with subscription licenses to Office suites and related software. For more details on the future of Office 365 software and services, see the Office 365 Roadmap.

Office 365 components are available as stand-alone subscription plans or as part of suites. Suites for enterprises include one or more of the services and software components listed here.

Office

Office 365 ProPlus delivers Office suites for local installation on Windows PCs or Macs, and rights to Office mobile applications.

Office Online provides Microsoft-hosted applications that enable users to create and edit Office documents from a browser, without the full Office applications being installed on the client.

Exchange

Exchange Online offers e-mail, calendars, contacts, and tasks based on the Exchange Server software.

Exchange Online Archiving archives e-mail from Exchange Online or Exchange Server in Microsoft data centers.

Exchange Online Protection filters malware, spam, and other unwanted message content for Exchange Online.
